whew, monday again... i am just figuring out it's a holiday! for some reason, i feel better about monday :)

things are very bright and sparkly over here. i have a website to design, and it will be very fun, once i stick my toe in the water. that is the hard part.

last friday, i took a big step, and started using a new software for my graphic design. i have owned the software for several years, it's called InDesign. all you designers know what a big deal this is. all you non-designers will understand, if i tell you that i have been using my OLD software since 1993, on my first day at Lawrence and Schiller. okay. that is awhile.

at any rate, it's kind of fun to learn a new trick. i had to google a bunch of times to answer questions, and make one call to kristie. otherwise, it was fun and not too hard to figure out. i am vowing to go 'cold turkey' on the old program, which is quite a big vow...here's to a week in which i grow a couple brain cells :)

happy mlk day, everyone!

oh. there. THIS is another reason I need to get my butt in gear and get over to ID instead. Fortunately I can't STAND Q. so the move should be easy!! Please keep me updated on your reaction to ID as you spend more time getting to know each other. :)

yes! do it! i actually did have to buy some software, to convert quark files over...otherwise, it's just too much work to recreate everything.

so far, so good. i love the intuitiveness with PS and IL. for instance, you can double click on something - open it in PS or IL - and update/revise, then go back to ID and it is automatically updated!! woo hoooooo! very nice.

i need to do a big project on it, so far have only done ads and business cards :)

sold. seriously. this needs to happen.

anne: if you are a quark hater you are going to he a id lover! if i ever have to open quark again i will probably have a breakdown...

bob: love the elephant print in the cute little frame ;)

annie. i did check for free :) it all depends on which version of quark you use, there are free conversion things for version 5.0 or OLDER. since i'm in 7.0, and no longer can go all the way back (i can only go back to 6.0) - i had to buy a program. the good thing is that i have CS2 still, in addition to CS4. i bought a clearance version for CS2 for $99. so, have a hoop to jump in that i have to open the file in CS2, then save and reopen in CS4.

wow. i sound technical :)
