look what i found tonite in my neighbor's driveway. i could tell he was injured in some way, he did not move at all. i kept watch for awhile, and he did walk, but it looked like he has a broken wing, could not fly.
i googled him, and it looks like he is a baby falcon - american kestrel. kirst, i wish i knew how to do rescues. i really feel bad, because i don't think he will make it the way it was looking. i guess i will just pray, since he has hobbled away by now. gosh, he is sure beautiful tho, isn't he? sigh. :(

What a great picture of the little guy. So sad. We have had 5 bunnies in our yard up until today...2 died and 3 just hopped on their tiny little legs for freedom!
Oh, that makes me so sad. You can kind of see the strong, powerful bird he might grow up to be.
Ohhhh, I so hope he makes it to, I am a softy that way, my oldest would love knowing that you googled to find out what it was, amazing. Must be the spring for little animals to come out
I think you could call the Wildlife Service to see if they can put you in touch with a rescue organization, that is if you see him again. Food for thought for next time. He is beautiful.
Oh that is so sad. Have you seen him since? Let me know. Oh. he is just too sweet. if you do see him. You can place a towel over him and put him carefully into a box. Then you can take him to a local animal shelter. Have you googled to see if you have a wildlife rescue place in Sioux falls? K~
