ok. so i need some advice here. i just had to re-order some check blanks, was astounded to see that it's $50 for 2 boxes. is it just me, or is that kinda steep?
the thing is, i still USE checks. i lost my debit card about 5 years ago, and just never replaced it. am i the only one? i do use my CREDIT cards for purchases quite abit, because i pay off the balance every month, no matter how much it hurts (oh, and HURT it does).
should i get a debit card? does everybody use them instead of checks? do you use checks still to pay bills? i have a couple of online payments, should i switch over to as many of those as i can?
what do you do?

birds of a feather, my friend. if you order a debit card, which you totally need, i will order more checks so that i actually have some. and more deposit slips.

ok girls...you totally need a debit card and switch to paying everything online. it is the best invention ever!! i think i wrote one check in the last 6 months. debit cards rule!!! checks are so 1985 ;)
girls!! nobody is listening to the question - why is a debit card better than a credit card? i have heard they are not protected like a credit card is? if it's just to go get cash, i'm not sure it's worth it for me, i usually keep a stash of cash at home :))

I think it comes down to responsibility. Do you keep track of your credit card purchases like you would with a debit card? I think that for me having to keep a register (excel spreadsheet) helps keep me on the ol' budget.

yeah. i kept a check register last in 1997. i do check my online balance about once every 2 days, and have an overdraft that connects to my biz account, so i don't run outta cash.
i guess i do get "surprised" by the monthly credit card bill almost every month!

i did sign up for electric and gas online payments, only water left to go. oh, and tithing.

1) Why does your bank not offer free checks?
2)Even when you use your debit card to swipe at the counter, they still ask you to push the credit button.
3)The only thing scary about the debit card is that it is an immediate transfer of funds and for the time being (say if someone stole your card) you will be out the cash until the money is returned to your account.Unlike, borrowing from Mr. Mastercard or Mrs. Visa.
