books books books


finished this book this weekend. it was kind of creepy, but i liked it.

then i started "prodigal summer" by barbara kingsolver for the 3rd time. i am determined to read it, durn it!

then i ordered "eat pray love" and "water for elephants" per karen's suggestions.

should be set for a coupla weeks.

Hey! I haven't actually *recommended* EatPrayLove. Right now, the author is spending four months at at Ashram in India, doing Yoga and meditating...

She believes that there are "many paths to God."

One thing I'm noticing about this particular religion--Hindi, or Yoga, or whatever, is that everything is SELF-oriented. Self-actualization. Self-enlightenment. etc. Very opposite Christ's self-denial and life of service.

yeah. i admit i have already have had some adverse thoughts about it. but there is quite a buzz, so i wanted to read it anyhoo :)

I am reading it b/c a searching friend gave it to me and b/c I really want to learn how to defend my faith.
