finally a kitchen.

Before....

Shiny, happy after...

Before.
White cabinets make me happy.
Before.

Looking thru from the dining room.
New shelf from Ikea for the chalkboard wall....

I surprised myself a bit by going 'subtle' with the fabric.

But I wanted to match up with the cabinet pulls...

I like the open shelves....

Before.

New drapes make a big difference in the space.

Overall, this kitchen reminds me of another happy kitchen...

Sigh. it feels good to be done. And to be able to know I am making Fern better. Even though as I have been reminded lately - 'she doesn't have feelings' :) But if she did, I bet she would be happy, too!

Bobbi! It looks wonderful! You should totally send your pics to younghouselove. I really like the subtle fabric.

Okay, self-serving question: where'd you get the bamboo shade over the sink? I want to go that route in the new place, and that kind of shade is harder to find than I expected.

Thanks for sharing your pics. You've encouraged and reminded me that there's more to a move than just unpacking boxes! :)

Ellen, yes, I remember the moving phase...very good to know that it does not last TOO long :)

The shade is from overstock.com (so are the green glass pulls, btw)...I actually bought the living room shades there, too. Great quality for a LOW price!!! I think all of the bamboo shades are from the same company...selection is a little limited, though. It happened to work out for my window sizes...

Wow, Bob. I love it ALL.

Are those dark blue walls? How does one come up with an idea for dark blue walls????

Also, I met that last happy kitchen when she was pink!

And also, I prefer to think she has feelings. :-)

HGTV. one of the places where dark blue walls prevail. also pinterest. you know, the SECRET places. ha.

Love it, I love it more that you can picture it in your head and make it happen.
